HelpCare Clinic was established to meet the proven need for a safety net clinic to serve the uninsured in Nebraska. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit medical clinic where individuals are cared for by paid and volunteer staff.

Lisa Guthrie, RNExecutive Director

Lisa Guthrie, RN, has more than 30 years of healthcare experience and over 20 years of leadership experience in healthcare administration and nursing management. As Executive Director of HelpCare Clinic, she is dedicated to expanding access to quality healthcare for uninsured and underserved individuals throughout Central Nebraska. Lisa oversees clinic operations, staff, volunteers, fundraising, and community partnerships while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care. Her passion for service and strong commitment to the community continue to drive the clinic's mission to improve health and change lives.

Rhonda Sherman, RNMedical Office Assistant

Rhonda is a Registered Nurse at HelpCare Clinic with more than 31 years of healthcare experience, spanning acute care, primary care, and geriatrics. In her role as a Medical Office Assistant, she collaborates closely with providers to support medical examinations and procedures and to educate and guide patients throughout their care journey. Rhonda is dedicated to ensuring every patient receives compassionate, high-quality care and believes that kindness, respect, and support are essential to improving quality of life. Driven by a lifelong commitment to serving others, she considers compassionate care one of the most meaningful gifts to offer another person.

Amy Marquez-MartinezVolunteer Coordinator & Bilingual Medical Receptionist

Amy has been a dedicated member of the HelpCare Clinic team for the past three years. Before stepping into her role as Volunteer Coordinator, she served as both a receptionist and an interpreter, during which she developed a passion for serving patients and supporting the clinic's mission. As a bilingual team member, she enjoys connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and helping volunteers find meaningful opportunities to use their talents to serve others.

Olga Palomo, CNABilingual Medical Receptionist

Olga Palomo is a bilingual Receptionist and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Olga has been working at the clinic since June 2023. I am passionate about my work because it allows me to serve and support my community every day. Olga believes being bilingual helps connect with patients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they feel welcomed, understood, and cared for. Olga takes pride in providing compassionate service and contributing to a positive healthcare experience for those we serve.

Sendy De Los SantosBilingual Medical Receptionist

Sendy De Los Santos serves as a Bilingual Receptionist and Interpreter at HelpCare Clinic. She assists patients with scheduling, interpretation, and access to healthcare services, while providing administrative support for clinic operations. She is dedicated to serving the community and helping uninsured individuals and families access quality healthcare.

Jennifer Murray APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BCFamily Nurse Practitioner / Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Jennifer Murray serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at HelpCare Clinic. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Creighton University, and her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2021. Jennifer has provided primary care and urgent care services in Central Nebraska since 2015 and has been part of HelpCare Clinic since 2018. She is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare and improving access to both primary care and mental health services.

Mary Alice Lanspa, RNVolunteer Clinic Nurse

June PetersenBilingual Translator

June volunteers at the HelpCare Clinic as a Spanish/English translator. She was a registered nurse for 44 years, working in a variety of specialties, both stateside and overseas in Latin America. She had the privilege of serving as the Clinic nurse when HelpCare was launched. Currently, she assists patients in communicating with their providers. It is her immense joy to see the light of understanding dawn on their faces as their anxiety about illness turns to understanding and relief.

Eric PetersonBilingual Translator

Eric volunteers at the HelpCare Clinic as a Spanish/English translator. He has earned both a B.S. and an MBA. He lived and worked in Latin America for 24 years. He has been involved with the HelpCare Clinic since its launch and assists with translation for patients and providers. He enjoys seeing individuals receive the medical care they need to be healthy members of our community.
